My dear Nobichan has given me the best valentines present any one could ever receive, and I can't stop looking at it, the most most beautiful bracelet of Disney s Mary Blair merchandise that long sold out for the theme park and I have it in its original case.

He even emailed Mary Blair's family, apparently they only have one between them, I feel most privileged and happy.

Where the name comes from

I created a 20 page hand printed book about a story of a gay sparrow discovering his sexuality( no explicit messages). I thought was my sweetest and most expressive piece of work at the time, and it came to me so naturally that it took a non stop 7 days to complete.

So here it is and I'm showing my proudest work with the world.

It is far enough into the New Year, and i am optimistic and really hopeful for the beginning of a new decade.

I have been busy, making jewelry carving animals, but also drawing.

the lack of post of illustration is due to under taking a book project with oxford press. will post a little bit more when there's a little further progress.

Handmade Christmas Leopard Crystal resin ring with Gold Sparkles for Around £15 ($25)

This is a handmade ring in the shape of a leopard, the eyes and leopard spots are hand painted on with gold glitter. It is made from see through hard plastic with water like tiny little bubbles spread evenly throughout the ring, very very pretty and Christmassy!

When I was in kinder garden, my grandfather would pick me up everyday at 3pm on his bicycle. My mother told me that i would be getting one of my own when I reach the age of 10. The next time I remember that, I was already 12 years old. Now I am pretty damn old, it is just getting a tiny bit embarrising that i don't know how to ride one, so i am going to make it my mission to learn to ride a bicycle, this summer!

Going through all of my sketchbooks (and getting rid of some).
During the family moving, my dad was doing a massive clear out, and discovered over 200 note/sketch books that i had up til i was 17.
during my clear out, i found this book that i was very fond of disintegrating. though maybe it is time to digitize all of my stuff, then all i need to keep is dvds. Then i thought maybe that's not a good idea, it never is the same if you can't hold a book and flick through, but then again, it is only a book that designed to be used and chucked, why so precious?

As of very recently i was invited back to Anglia Ruskin on a emergency email to give a demo to how to bind your own printed books, I think i was very fortunate that i was quite a handy person, being on a children's book illustration MA, it really is quite useful to know all these bits.
anyway that had made me really want to learn a few more ways of binding. heres another method in making, but i didn't have the professional tools.

I've never felt like such a geek before the amazing news of the releasing date of Adobe CS5, and as much as I love drawing by hand, printing by hand, woodwork, carpenter work metal work, making clay figures and sewing dresses and etc. by hand, I love computers, and CS5 is truly going to change our lives i think! I mean, have you checked out all the new features and stuff on their website, it is like mindblowing isn't it?

I have recently been experimenting with varies other textures to use for my illustration, screenprinting, block printing, and all sorts, i can't say that woodcut is still my favorite, but for now i am going to stick with some aspect of it, it is a very hard decision to make but some changed has been put in place!

This weekend has been delightful, not because of this picture of me doing a mask and holding my miss printed copy of my book from lulu, by the way, it is so weird, how could they get 4 right and 1 wrong, if they were to do 5 books the same surely if one is wrong they should all be wrong, right? i don't understand, but hell they won't get a way with it. ohh the reason why it has been delightful is because i re-discovered SAINT SEIYA!
This is a super lame manga anime that was out in the 80s and i watched when i was a kid. this is the beginning and the end of my manga period. i really can't bad mouth manga, because once upon a time, it fulfilled my preteen sexual fantasy just like every other girl that's out there, but still once in a lifetime is plenty enough already!

A couple of days ago, i received my MA results, i got a distinction.
i was so happy, then i thought it was a little dumb, who would ever care what grade you got when you are trying to get you work published? no one, but on the other hand, i felt like i just got a gold star! at least Mom will be very happy!

what's an distinction do to people, It makes you sell your soul to the devil and draw SUPER CUTE furry animal characters all the time, and big smiley faces and stuff. never realised actually they are not that easy.
